Our History

Originally founded as Meco Construction in 1987 by Gary Chant, our company began with a strong commitment to quality and community. Over the years, that vision has grown into a full-service restoration operation, now operating as part of the DKI Canada network under the leadership of Troy MacDonald, Owner and Operations Manager.

With over 37 years of experience in the restoration industry, DKI – Meco Construction is proud to be a trusted leader in property restoration services across Cape Breton. We specialize in delivering high-quality work with a personal touch—every time.

Our Team

Our company is staffed by 35 full-time employees and 8 dedicated support personnel, including IICRC-certified technicians trained in:

Our skilled estimators use the latest Xactimate software to provide accurate, transparent, and detailed estimates for insurance claims and restoration projects.

  • A fully equipped workshop and compound
  • A 7,000 sq. ft. climate-controlled storage space
